Dudley’s paintings have a dynamic, life-giving quality attributable to
her fresh and vibrant coloration that has become a trademark of her
work. Her viewers are
quickly caught up in the mood she has created with her dynamic lighting,
her keen sense of color, and her creative spirit.
Her paintings reflect the romance and beauty of nature, which
inspires the soul. She is
endlessly searching to show that tie between her subjects and her heart,
the poetry of who she is and how she views her world that allows her
viewers to connect personally with her paintings.
June
says, “I am a country girl whose life revolves around art. Painting is
all I have ever wanted to do for as long as I can remember even though
life’s roads sometimes lead me other places.
I grew up on a ranch which my husband & I run today What
a great way to grow up, being the daughter of a cowboy and a homemaker.
I loved following my dad around our 4,000 acre ranch learning all the
ropes from an expert instructor and helping my dad work cattle, build
pens and fences, baling hay, clearing land, hunting, fishing, swimming,
riding horses and just enjoying the land. I
also enjoyed my mother’s beautiful flowers.
The outdoors was my world, and it instilled in me a deep love of
the land, which I am told comes through in my paintings. I was my
dad’s tomboy and loved every minute of it.
Our family’s land has been officially recognized by the state
of Texas for having been in our family for over 100
years, and it is still owned and cared for by my family.
The Texas Land Heritage Program has given us a plaque and
certificate showing this accomplishment.
This is another reason I love painting landscapes.
They come from my heart. God
gave me the desire, determination, & talent to do something with my
life that I truly enjoy.”
Her
paintings are also a family affair.
She often uses figures in her landscapes and those figures are
family members or very close family friends.
Blessed with three grown children, their spouses, and eight
grandchildren she has wonderful models from which to choose.
You can see them all portrayed in her paintings.
