Floyd Kirk Odom

Individuals who appreciate wildlife and the great outdoors are encouraged to view Vigilant Spirit, a limited edition bronze eagle sculpture by Austin artist, F. Kirk Odom and cast by Hoka Hey Foundry in Dublin, Texas. The inspiration behind Vigilant Spirit began with the following words penned by F. Kirk:


Vigilant Spirit,
Instill within me strength,
Determination and power
Without limit, without boundary.
Vigilant Spirit,
Help me rise on wings,
Wings like eagles,
To see the limitless and boundless
Eternal beauty set before me.
Vigilant Spirit,
Give me the will to soar
Above the ordinary,
To climb above the surmounting current
Of rising thermals,
To grasp vast influence.
Vigilant Spirit,
Hold me with your power.
Help protect all I hold dear:
Values, honor, integrity, and
All courageous spirits I hold dear,
And whom I will not abandon.
Vigilant Spirit,
Give me the eyes of the eagle,
Swiftness of committed decision,
Accuracy of action,
The ability to soar on wings like eagles,
Vigilant Spirit.


F. Kirk Odom is an artist at heart, a wildlife enthusiast by desire; he has also completed a rendition of a Texas Longhorn and cactus limited to 40. Works in progress and in various stages of completion are: two bald eagles fighting and tumbling while in flight, a combination bronze projected to be five feet in height; an Indian hunter draped with a buffalo hide and entitled, Hunters: Another Time; Another Place; two bull elk fighting on a mountain ridge; a grizzly bear and cub fishing in a mountain stream; a roadrunner taunting a diamondback rattlesnake entitled, Brush Country Dance.
