I
"reinvent realism" in my eye-catching series of still life subjects, by
using a happy twist of design and color that creates a bridge between
reality and imagination. Bold hues and layering techniques make the
paintings resonate with color vibration. My still, life paintings are
based on familiar and casual objects that are simplified in their
shapes, but complex in color theory.
Inspiration for my nature compositions
come from personal experiences in the great outdoors, mostly in Texas
and the Western United States. The "musical series" comes from a
lifetime of admiration for pianists and from the joy of listening to
live music in an intimate setting.
My line of semi-representational and
abstract paintings is a result of a craving for rhythmic design and
color experimentation with expressionist images and bright colors.
